As you may know, the last two weeks have been challenging for many in the NY, NJ area, unfortunately CITY VET in Long Island City was not spared.

During Hurricane Sandy, CITY VET experienced flooding over 6ft in the entire lower level of the clinic, everything was destroyed - their x-ray room, surgical room, kennels, and storage supply.

While it has been a devastating loss for Dr. Adams and staff, it has also been a terrible loss to our community. Dr. Adams has been working diligently not only on rebuilding CITY VET, but is still seeing pets during the day and by “lamp” in the evening as the clinic is still without electricity.  She and her staff are COMMITTED to the healthcare of our pets, whatever measures she must take, so we are asking for your help now in hopes to get CITY VET back in full service as soon as possible.

If you are a pet lover, pet owner, client or friend of Dr. Adams and her staff, we could greatly appreciate ANY help for the animals in our community as we continue to support CITY VET in its efforts to rebuild. No gift is too small or too large.
Items that need to be replaced:
X-ray machine
X-ray developer
Lead aprons
Autoclave (sterilizes surgical equipment)
Anesthesia machine
Surgery table
Scaler and polisher for dental procedures
Inventory of prescription foods
Kennels
Basic office and cleaning supplies
Shelving units

If you know of vendors, workers in theVeterinary field across the country or just a pet lover across the country who may be able assist Dr. Adams with supplies or contribute financially, please contact us at FriendsOfCityVet@gmail.com or Dr. Adams directly.

It is times like these where the human spirit can truly shine as we continue to give back to others and our community.  We are truly grateful.

With Many Thanks!
